The operator of a pig-breeding facility in northeastern Germany says a hearth is believed to have killed greater than 55,000 animals
A spokesman for operator LFD Holding, Ralf Beke-Bramkamp, instructed German information company dpa that over 55,000 animals died. Some 7,000 sows and 50,000 piglets have been listed as being on the facility on the time, and solely about 1,300 animals have been rescued.
The Alt Tellin facility was one of many largest of its variety in Germany. Teams of demonstrators, carrying placards with slogans akin to “Cease animal torture,” gathered on the scene on Wednesday.
